Happy 4th Anniversary [Party] Coquina!
Sunday, March 7th, Coquina will be celebrating her 4th Anniversary. Join us for dinner from 6-9p in the backyard at 10 Rohde for some BBQ and fun. If your last name begins with A-M, plan to bring a side dish (e.g. cole slaw, baked beans, or salad). If your last name begins with N-Z, plan to bring a dessert or fruit.

We Are a Missional Church
What does that mean? It means we seek to join Jesus on His mission. We do Whatever He leads us to do, Whenever He tells us and Wherever He wants us to do it (W3). Locally, our Gospel Communities are the primary vehicle for partnering with other ministries and organizations.
Coquina is working to memorize the book of Philippians in 2010. So, this week my family and I have been working on 1:1-3, and it took our seven-year-old daughter Selah all of one day to get it down (see the video below).
Some good ideas to help memorize:
read the passage over and over, stressing the next word in consecutive order each time (e.g. PAUL and Timothy... / Paul AND Timothy... / Paul and TIMOTHY...)
or write the first letter of each word on an index card, and use it as a help until you can do it without the card (e.g. 1:1 "P a T, s o C J, t a t s i C J w a a P, w t o a d"). Click Here for Chapter 1, First Letter only
Here are two new resources to help as we strive to memorize the book of Philippians in 2010:
A Google calendar with the memory verses (I have this set to send me an email every morning with the verses for that week): Click Here to View
A Spreadsheet with the Sunday and the corresponding verses: Click Here to View
We will continue to post the verses in the worship guide for our Sunday gathering, and will soon be providing bookmarks with the current chapter of Philippians. Let us know if you have any additional creative ideas for helping us keep these verses in our minds, and let us know how you are doing at memorizing this wonderful letter from Paul.
Stay tuned for more, and Grace be with you,
Zachary Anderson
