Bible Reading

Take Up and Read!

God makes himself, his purposes, and his promises known in and through his word. And everything in God's word points to Jesus (Luke 24:27, 44-45; John 5:39-40). It's here we find grace and strength, hope and encouragement, and even needed correction ... life in all it's true fullness (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Here are some additional resources so the gospel will continue to increase mightily in and through you:

This is a helpful, printable PDF produced by Just think, a reading plan with two built in catch up days a week. Read a helpful review of this plan here

These are well crafted sites to encourage men and women to be with God in his Word everyday. Explore this site, as there's more here than reading plans.

If you're new to the Scriptures or just need a fresh, recalibrating read, this offers a 30,000 foot fly-over allowing you to see the arc of the story of God's redemption from beginning toward where it's all going (not it's "end" ... the infinite and eternal does not end!)

A plan for people like ... well, most of us. It's not keyed to a year, but to days, so that if it takes you more than a year to get through, fine. Who's counting? It's helpful and gracious and keeps you going. Read blogger Justin Taylor’s promo of it.

D.A. Carson has provided this excellent resource, which is keyed to Robert Murray M’Cheney’s reading plan. Carson provides an insightful daily devotional, and while his writing style is a bit more academic, he pushes you into the depths of God's redemptive story. The reading plan is structured to take you through the Bible fully in a year by daily reading all four entries (actually, the Psalms and NT twice!). If you need more time, read two entries a day and you'll get through in two years.
