Bible Verse & Quote on Prayer
“Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” (Matthew 21:12-13)
“Nothing is well done without prayer for the simple reason that it leaves God out of the account.” - E. M. Bounds
Congregational Bible Prayer (say together)
A Prayer from Psalm 107:22-31
“Praise be to God!
Let us praise him with sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And declare His works with rejoicing.
Those who go down to the sea in ships,
Who sail across the ocean’s might expanse,
They see the works of the Lord,
And His wonders in the deep.
For He commands and raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
They mount up to the heavens,
They go down again to the depths;
Their soul melts because of trouble.
They reel back and forth, and stumble at the ocean’s might,
And are at their wits’ end.
Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brings them out of their distresses.
He calms the storm, so that its waves are still.
Then they are glad because the waves are quiet;
The Lord guides them to their desired haven.
Let us give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Bible Prayer Story -
King Saul asked, but received no answer.
“13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance. 14 But he did not inquire of the Lord; therefore He killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.” (1 Chronicles 10:13-14)
Sometimes, if we want to commune with God, we just need to stop and back up before we go too far down the wrong road.

Command of Christ
“For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the unrighteous do the same? And if you greet your friends only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the unrighteous do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:46-48)
Confession - Forgiveness
“Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Savior, Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power,
Both now and forever. Amen.”
