Bible Verse & Quote on Prayer

“And after this, when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast the demon out?” So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
(Mark 9:28-29)

“Sometimes you can’t do it except by prayer and fasting.” - Paul Pent

Congregational Bible Prayer (say together)

A Prayer from Psalm 149:1-4

“Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise in the assembly of saints.
Let men rejoice in their Maker;
Let the children of God be joyful in their King.
Let us praise His name with the dance;
Let us sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation.
Praise the Lord!”

Bible Prayer Story & Principle

“28 Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. 30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.” (Judges 16:28-30)

Sometimes it’s scary when God is cleansing a nation of idolatry and fornication, but stay strong in prayer for God’s glory.

Lord, we pray that by your grace you would strengthen your church in India to “approve the things that are excellent, that they may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:10-11)

Almighty and everlasting God, who hates nothing made by your hands and forgives the sins of all those who seek after your mercy, create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, turning from our sins and acknowledging our unrighteousness, may obtain through your mercy perfect remission and forgiveness. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
