Our Goal: To labor in knowing and doing everything Scripture says about prayer.
Bible Verse & Quote on Prayer
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)
“Don’t regard prayer as a duty, but as a privilege to be enjoyed – a rare delight that is always revealing some new beauty.” - E.M. Bounds
Congregational Bible Prayer
A Prayer from 1 Samuel 2:1-10
“My heart rejoices in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord.
I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation.
No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
The Lord is the God of knowledge; and by Him actions are weighed.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap,
To set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.
He will guard the feet of His saints, and exalt the horn of His anointed.”
Bible Prayer Story
“And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And she and her household were baptized…” (Acts 16:13-15)
Christ says he is faithful to do anything we ask in his name so that God may be glorified in him (John 14:12-14), even changing the hearts of those we pray for.
Prayer for the Nations
Dear Lord, we pray for your Church in Europe, that “the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified” (2 Thessalonians 3:1). To that end, we pray for:
Ireland (President Higgins)
Father, thank you for slowly bringing political and religious peace as Ireland continues to move away from a Protestant vs. Catholic existence.
Italy (President Mattarella)
Holy Spirit, grant your gospel a stronger foothold and plant Bible-believing churches in the 70% of Italian communities that don’t have one.
Latvia (President Vējonis)
Jesus, we praise you for the foundation of prayer and worship-based unity among Latvia’s church leaders. We pray you would carry this through to revival!
Liechtenstein (Prince Hans-Adam II)
Lord, bring your good news through foreigners coming into Liechtenstein and move these people from living as nominal Catholics to Spirit-filled followers.
Lithuania (President Grybauskaitė)
Father, thank you for for the church unity that has come as a result of post-Soviet religious freedom in Lithuania! Continue to bless their church leaders.
Luxembourg (Grand Duke Henri)
Holy Spirit, unleash Luxembourg from hollow nominal Catholic religiosity and unite the hearts of these people under the love of Christ.
Macedonia (President Ivanov)
Jesus, bring peace and unity to the Albanian & Slavic people in Macedonia through the cross of Christ, and multiply the Macedonian evangelical churches.
Malta (President Preca)
Lord, continue to transform the hearts of the Maltese by bringing them to enjoy a personal walk with Jesus as you began with the shipwrecked apostle Paul.
Moldova (President Dodon)
Father, strengthen and multiply Moldovan Christians as they persist through direct opposition & persecution from the Orthodox church and seek to serve your people in Europe’s poorest nation.
Congregational Personal Prayers
Dear Lord, we pray for our church family at Coquina, that by your grace we would “be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” (Colossians 1:9).
Command of Christ
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)
Confession for Forgiveness
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-58)
